According to used car website AA Cars, data reveals that consumer interest in second-hand electric vehicles (EVs) rose by around a fifth last year.

The site’s data showed interest was up by 18.85% in 2020, despite the lengthy lockdowns and dealership closures we saw last year.

AA Cars says consumers have become ever more interested in electric cars in recent years, and even greater growth is expected in 2021.

In the first three months of 2021, search were up 42% compared with the same period in 2020. 

These trends reflect the new car market, with figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) showing sales of new EVs rose by more than 185%.
